When we recommend leaving Macao

We recommend a lobby pickup 3 to 3.5 hours before your flight time out of Macao, our own operating figure rather than an airline rule. This is the northernmost strip we cover and several properties sit off unpaved access roads that connect to the main highway — fine in dry weather, slower after rain, which is why the buffer runs longer here than on the paved resort strips further south. The 30 to 40 minute drive itself is straightforward once you reach the highway, but we plan around the access-road stretch, resort checkout and the PUJ counter and security queues together. For a group of six or more, or if it has rained heavily that week, we will suggest the top end of the range or a little more.
