Miches is not a Bávaro suburb and it is not a slightly longer Uvero Alto. The road runs north past Macao and Uvero Alto, then climbs and turns west along the Bahía de Samaná coast to Playa Esmeralda and the town of Miches itself. Depending on traffic through Higüey or the coastal stretch, that is 90 minutes on a clear morning and up to 150 minutes on a busy afternoon or in heavy rain. The $129 Standard rate covers the Playa Esmeralda resort cluster, the smaller hotels in and around Miches town, and villas on the same coast road, as long as the address is reachable by car. There is no roadside taxi supply out here and no Uber at the far end, so the run is planned in advance or it does not happen.
