It is a real cross-country drive: west on the Coral highway, north on the Juan Pablo II toll road toward Nagua and the bay, then over the ridge to Las Terrenas or east along the bay to Samaná town and Las Galeras. Las Terrenas is the shortest of the three at around three hours in clear conditions; Samaná town adds twenty to thirty minutes, Las Galeras another twenty on top of that. Hotels drop at the main entrance. Apartments and villas on the peninsula often have no street number, so send a pin or the owner's contact and we agree the exact meeting point before the driver leaves Punta Cana. For Cayo Levantado we drop at the pier in Samaná town.
