Arena Gorda is not the Bávaro rate
Arena Gorda is the beach section immediately north of the main Bávaro strip, and it is the single most misquoted zone in Punta Cana. Plenty of operators advertise the Bávaro price and then ask for more at the gate because the resort is actually past the border. We keep it honest: Arena Gorda is $42 Standard, not the Bávaro rate. The border runs roughly where the built-up Los Corales and Playa Bávaro hotels end and the wider, quieter beach begins — the large resort blocks along Playa Arena Gorda, including the Riu cluster, Occidental and Iberostar area, and the roads that continue toward Macao. If your booking confirmation says Bávaro but the map pin sits north of that line, send us the hotel name and we tell you which zone you are actually in before you pay anything.
