Catalonia Gran Dominicus sits at the end of the Dominicus beach road, past the other resorts on the same strip, which makes it the longest last stretch of the Bayahibe group even though the highway portion is the same 60 to 75 minute run from PUJ past Higüey. The shared checkpoint at the start of the Dominicus road checks every vehicle before it continues down the strip, and because this hotel is at the far end, a shared shuttle making stops at the earlier resorts first adds real time to an already long drive. A private car goes past the checkpoint and straight to the end of the road without detours. We ask for the exact hotel name with the booking so the checkpoint clears the car without a phone call, and we track the flight so the driver is already in arrivals when you land.

How the pickup works
