El Cortecito is a town, not a resort strip

El Cortecito is the original fishing village in the middle of Bávaro: a short pedestrian street of restaurants and souvenir stalls running down to the beach where the fishing boats still land, with Playa El Cortecito on one side and the big all-inclusives on both flanks. It matters for transfers because the accommodation here is different from the strip — guesthouses, aparthotels, rooms above restaurants, condos in Los Corales next door. There is no lobby driveway and no bellman, some streets are one-way or closed to cars at the beach end, and the address you were sent by your host is often a building name rather than a number. The transfer price is the standard Bávaro rate; what changes is the last two hundred metres, which we agree in writing before the driver leaves the airport.

How the El Cortecito pickup runs

1. 1Send the property name, a map pin if you have one, flight number, date and party size.
2. 2We check how close a car can park and reply with the written price and the meeting point.
3. 3After immigration and baggage, walk out to arrivals and look for the sign with your name.
4. 4Direct drive into El Cortecito. If the street is closed to cars, the driver parks at the nearest corner and walks your luggage in.

Hotels, villas and drop-off points

The big resorts on either side of the town use their own lobby entrances, but most El Cortecito stays are small: Los Corales apartments, aparthotels on Calle El Cortecito, and rooms behind the beach. Send the host's exact address and we confirm the drop-off.

Cars can reach the top of Calle El Cortecito but not the beach end, which is pedestrian. For properties behind the beach, the driver stops at the closest legal point — usually under two minutes on foot — and carries the bags. Gated condo blocks need your name left with the guard by the host, so send the reservation name when you book.

Bigger groups

7–14 passengers ride in a passenger van: +$20 on Standard, +$40 on VIP for this zone. Golf bags, strollers, wheelchairs and surf gear are fine — give us the luggage count and we send the right vehicle instead of guessing at the curb.
