When we recommend leaving Punta Cana Village
Punta Cana Village sits closer to the airport than any resort strip we cover, so the drive itself is not the concern. We still recommend a pickup 2.5 hours before your flight, our own operating figure rather than an airline rule, because the village is residential rather than resort-run: there is no single front desk chasing checkout for you, so guests in private apartments or rental villas tend to run behind schedule packing up. Add to that the PUJ counter and security queues, which do not care how close you live, and the buffer holds up well. If you are in one of the gated condo blocks with a shared exit road, or travelling with six or more people, tell us and we build in another 15 to 20 minutes so the car is never waiting on a blocked driveway.
